एमबीए (मनोरंजन संचार) पाठ्यक्रम के विद्यार्थी पराक्रम सिहं ने विषय के पक्ष में विचार रखते हुए न केवल बार-बार दर्शकों व प्रतिभागियों की तालियां बटोरीं, बल्कि निर्णायक मंडल ने भी उसकी प्रस्तुति की खुलकर प्रशंसा की। प्रथम पुरस्कार के रूप में पराक्रम सिंह को एक ट्रॉफी और प्रमाणपत्र के अलावा 15000 रुपये की राशि का चैक प्राप्त हुआ है। विश्वविद्यालय की टीम में पराक्रम सिंह के अलावा एमए विज्ञापन एवं जनसंपर्क पाठ्यक्रम के विद्यार्थी शुभ तिवारी शामिल हुए और टीम इन्चार्ज और मार्गदर्शक के रूप में विश्वविद्यालय के शिक्षक श्री सुरेन्द्र पॉल ने टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रो. बृजकिशोर कुठियाला ने प्रथम पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने पर पराक्रम सिंह को हार्दिक बधाई और आशीर्वाद दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय में सांस्कृतिक और सृजनात्मक गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए विश्वविद्यालय ने विशेष योजना बनाई है। इसके तहत विश्वविद्यालय विद्यार्थियों को विशेष सुविधाएं मुहैया करा रहा है। पराक्रम सिंह की उपलब्धि विश्वविद्यालय के अन्य विद्यार्थियों को भी सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों में भाग लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेगी।

भारतीय संसदीय संस्थान ने देश भर के विश्वविद्यालयों को वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता में शामिल होने के लिए पत्र लिखा था। जिसके तहत प्रत्येक विश्वविद्यालय से एक विद्यार्थी को पक्ष में और एक विद्यार्थी को विपक्ष में नामांकित किया जाना था एवं विश्वविद्यालय स्तर पर संपन्न होने वाली अंतर विभागीय वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम, द्वितीय और तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को भी पुरस्कृत करने का प्रावधान था।

विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा 10 अक्टूबर 2011 को आयोजित वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम स्थान पर पराक्रम सिंह शेखावत, द्वितीय स्थान पर शुभ तिवारी एवं तृतीय स्थान पर एमजे पाठ्यक्रम की छात्रा अंशु सिन्हा रही। भारतीय संसदीय संस्थान –जनसंख्या एवं विकास ने इन छात्रों को क्रमशः प्रथम स्थान के लिए रूपये 3000 द्वितीय स्थान के लिए रूपये 2000 एवं तृतीय स्थान के लिए 1500 रूपये का पुरस्कार एवं प्रमाणपत्र भी प्रदान किया है। इसी तारतम्य में पराक्रम सिहं शेखावत एवं शुभ तिवारी ने अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर विश्वविद्यालय का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।

Baselworld 2010 - The End
